Last Monday morning marked Taylor’s first day of school. At the ripe old age of 7 weeks, Taylor spent her first days away from her Mommy & Daddy. Josh and I took her to school on her first day together to see our little girl off. I got a little teary eyed dropping her off and seeing her name on her school crib. My little girl is growing up!
At first, I was really dreading all the bottle making for her days at school, but after our first week, it turned out not to be so bad. I wash them quickly when I pick her up and then Josh and I make her next day’s bottles each evening so they are ready for the morning. I’m able to still nurse her each morning and at night. It is so rewarding to be able to continue to nurse her. She’s now eating half formula/half breast milk, and I hope to be able to maintain this for her first year.
Her teachers encouraged me to call and check in on her when ever I wanted, so I took them up on that a few times her first week. It was reassuring to hear that she was happy and doing well. At the end of the day I get a report card about how she did throughout the day. I love to see when she napped, when her diaper changes were, when she ate, and what her overall mood was.
I have dreamed of the day that I get to pick up my daughter from daycare after work. I’ve wanted this for so long. The absolute best part of my day is finishing up my work and rushing back to pick up my girl! I get so excited to see her. Most times when I get there, she is happily napping and doesn't even notice I’m there. Oh well! It is just great to have her in my arms again.
I made a collage for the headboard of her school crib with our pictures on it, so she can see us when she wakes up from her naps.
I picked her up early one day and figured I could bring her home and still do a little more work, but nope, she had different plans! She got hungry, then needed a diaper change, outfit change, etc, etc! Next time, I’ll be finishing my work and then going back to get her!
I swear she grows from the time I see her in the morning to when I pick her up each afternoon! Could it be possible? She’s seemed bigger and more mature every time I pick her up!
